Madama Butterfly On Sydney Harbour

(29-March To 23-April 2023)
Madama Butterfly, the enormously popular and highly acclaimed opera, is back at the Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour.

This is “the most stunning outdoor festival in Australia,” with nightly fireworks and temporary bars and restaurants. No knowledge of opera is required to appreciate this momentous event (Concrete Playground).

Sit back and enjoy the view of “Paradise,” which includes a bamboo grove, a big moon, and a rising sun that are all floating in the harbor. When night descends, millions of city lights illuminate the picturesque skyline behind the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Innocent Cio-Cio-San feels the flutter of love on the wings of longing. A whim is like candy to brash Pinkerton. Their love sparks to life on their wedding night. How fleeting is their moment of bliss, though?

The heartbreaking hymn to unrequited love by Puccini has never failed to shock. As the East meets the West, so do devotion and disdain, expectations and letdowns. Cio-Cio-San had his hopes dashed in the collision.

One of the most stunning outdoor operas ever staged, Madama Butterfly on Sydney Harbour received five stars and was called a “world-beating triumph.”

Ramadan Nights Lakemba

(29-March To 20-April)
Ramadan Nights Lakemba, which has become one of the most well-known and ethnically varied events in Sydney, is back!
Every night from the time it gets dark to the time it gets light, there is a bustling food bazaar that is part of the amazing festival that lasts for an entire month.

As part of the celebration of Ramadan, you might choose to break your fast, experiment with new dishes, or participate in cultural and traditional activities. Bring the whole family, or meet up with some friends for dinner. Throughout the month of April, you will encounter a wide variety of street food sellers selling a variety of foods.

It is an event that should not be missed, and it is accessible directly from the Lakemba Station.

Macbeth Event

(29-March To 02 April 2023)
Shakespeare’s most terrifying thriller tells the story of Macbeth, a Scottish general famous for his military deeds.

During a deadly battle, Macbeth and his ally Banquo are confronted by three Weird Sisters, who predict that Macbeth will one day become King.

Macbeth confides in Lady Macbeth, unable to shake the thought. They commit murder, fueled by an insatiable desire for power, posterity, and certainty, and put in motion the inexorable unraveling of their sanity. They confront the severe consequences of their heinous crimes with blood on their hands.

Peter Evans’ Macbeth, a horrifying portrait of moral breakdown starring Logie award-winning Hazem Shammas (The Twelve, Safe Harbour) as Macbeth and Jessica Tovey (The Miser, The Merchant of Venice) as Lady Macbeth, will take you on an intense and captivating journey into the dark heart of humanity.
