Mount Pritchard is a suburb of Sydney, which is located in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is situated 34 kilometres to the south-west of the Sydney central business district, and it falls under the jurisdiction of the City of Fairfield. Mount Pritchard is a part of the South-western Sydney region.

The Cabrogal people originally inhabited a large portion of the greater Fairfield area, including Mount Pritchard, and it was their home. A number of formerly incarcerated people were given permission to farm the land at the beginning of the 19th century. After some time, it became a component of the Male Orphan School Estate. Hugh Pritchard, a real estate property salesman, was the one who in 1913 subdivided the land that had previously been owned by the Bull family and was located to the west of Cabramatta Creek and Orange Grove Road into smaller residential lots and gave the neighbourhood the name Cabramatta Park Estate.

Since 1919, the estate has been known as Mount Pritchard in recognition of the fact that Mr. Pritchard was responsible for paying off the debts of a number of landowners whom he had financed. In 1924, the election polling place in the neighbourhood did the same thing. After one of the early settlers and his family camped there while travelling, they lost their bullocks, and for three weeks they remained in misery there until starvation forced them to beat a retreat, minus their bullocks and dray. Since those early settler days, the general area had been known unofficially as Mount Misery. The origin of this name comes from a story about how one of the early settlers and his family camped there.

The only bus route that Westbus operates that serves Mount Pritchard is the 808 route, which travels from Fairfield to Liverpool. On the other hand, Metrolink provides service to Mount Pritchard via two different bus routes. The 816 will take you to Cabramatta from Greenfield Park (via Meadows Road, Mount Pritchard), and the 815 will take you from Mount Pritchard all the way to Cabramatta. The Cabramatta, Liverpool, and Warwick Farm stations are the ones that are the most convenient for you to use.

Mount Pritchard Public School and Mount Pritchard East Public School are the two primary public schools that serve the community of Mount Pritchard. In addition, there is the Les Powell School for children and young adults who have significant intellectual and multiple disabilities.
