In the Australian state of New South Wales, Schofields is a developing neighborhood that is situated on the periphery of Sydney’s urban sprawl. Schofields is situated in the Blacktown local government region, 45 kilometers west of Sydney’s CBD. It is a component of the North West Growth Area in Greater Western Sydney.
When he was just 17 years old, John Schofield (1803–1844) was deported from England to the Colony of New South Wales due to theft. He was a Cheshire-based silk weaver during the time.

He was brought over on the HMS Minerva in 1821, and Thomas Harley, a free settler, hired him to work on his farm in Baulkham Hills. Schofield received a Ticket of Leave in 1828, allowing him to dwell at his leisure in the Parramatta neighborhood. He wed Bridget Harley, the offspring of his old boss, in 1829. Then Schofield leased Gillingham Farm, which was close to Eastern Creek.

There were three girls and five boys born to the Schofields. Schofield acquired three 0.25-acre (0.10-hectare) plots of land alongside the Windsor Road in 1841. Schofield unfortunately went bankrupt in 1843 as a result of declining wool prices and a broader slump in the province. A few years later, brand-new government perks made it possible for Schofield to purchase 600 acres (240 hectares) of land in the vicinity of what is now known as Schofields. William and Samuel Schofield, two of Schofield’s sons, and they traveled to California in 1849 in search of gold.In 1850, he returned with some gold, but their ship, the Rosetta Joseph, ran aground and sank.

After 10 days, the passengers were rescued at Port Macquarie while on lifeboats in extremely choppy seas. With enough gold, Schofield and his sons were able to settle most of their bills when they got back to their farm. Bridget Schofield passed away in 1851, just before Christmas. Schofield was able to pay off his mortgage and pursue his intense interest in horseracing thanks to the finding of gold in New South Wales and an improvement in the economy.

In 1864, the Blacktown to Windsor railway line was completed, passing past Schofield’s property. On Schofield’s property, a stopping location was identified in 1872, and to make boarding the train safer, a tiny platform made of railroad sleepers was subsequently constructed. Schofield’s Siding was the name of this stepping-stone. Schofields became the name after a number of years.

Later in life, Schofield built a sawmill next to a railroad track and supplied wood for homes with trees from his paddocks in Schofields. In 1884, John Schofield perished.
The Schofields railway station is located on the Richmond branch of the Sydney Trains T1 North Shore, Northern & Western Line, and T5 Cumberland Line.
Easy access to the roads from the south and the east is made possible by the Westlink M7 and M2 Hills Motorway.
Commuter bus services are offered by Busways to and from the neighborhood.
