In the Australian state of New South Wales, St Marys is a suburb of Sydney. It is located in the City of Penrith local government region, 45 kilometers west of Sydney’s CBD.
The western and eastern boundaries of St. Marys are formed by South Creek and Ropes Creek, respectively.

On March 3, 1890, the Municipality of St. Marys was established, and the first council was chosen in May of that same year. On January 1 1949, the council and the Municipality of Penrith merged. William Garner served as the city’s first mayor, and J. J. Blair served as its last (1948). The Penrith City Council has a branch office and a library on Queen Street. On Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm, the St. Marys & District Historical Society is accessible to the general public at its location at the Mamre Road Community Center complex, which is on the Great Western Highway’s southern side.

Queen Street dominates St. Marys’s primary commercial district, with some stores also located along Railway Street and the Great Western Highway. This area consists of:

On Charles Hackett Drive, there is a shopping center called St. Marys Village. This sub-regional center houses Target, Woolworths, and more than 40 speciality shops. The shopping center offers simple shopping on one level with easily accessible parking on the bottom floor.

There are approximately 16 specialty stores and a Coles supermarket at Station Plaza, a retail center. In opposition to the St Marys train station and bus depot, it is situated on Phillip Street.

With entry and exit ramps to Mamre Road leading to St Marys Town Center (North) and the St Clair estate, the M4 Motorway runs along the southern boundary (South). The main East/West thoroughfare in the suburb is the Great Western Highway. The northern and southern limits are marked by Sydney Street and Marsden Road, respectively.

Regular passenger train service operates along the main western railway line to St Marys, and the station serves as a significant local transportation center for bus, taxi, and rail transportation.

To the north is Dunheved, a significant industrial and commercial hub. As part of the Ropes Creek branch line, which was built to serve the munitions factories formerly run by Australian Defence Industries, a branch rail line that left the main western line around 200 meters west of St Marys station provided service to Dunheved between March 1942 and March 1986. There is nothing left of this branch line beyond Christie Street, despite the fact that the rail infrastructure was kept in place for many years after its closure. The only remaining portions are the platforms at Dunheved Station and Ropes Creek Station (located within the Ropes Crossing estate).
