In the Australian state of New South Wales, the neighborhood of Stanhope Gardens is located in Sydney. In the local government area of City of Blacktown, 39 kilometres northwest of Sydney’s financial centre, sits Stanhope Gardens. The area known as Greater Western Sydney includes Stanhope Gardens.

After coming to Australia in 1801, John Hillas (1768–1837) was granted two land grants on the Windsor Road in 1801 and 1804. Stanhope Farm was the name he gave to the second of these 150-acre tracts. To accommodate the travel between the Macquarie Towns and Parramatta, he opened the Stanhope Arms on Windsor Road.
The Pearce family had owned Stanhope Farm by 1856. Jack Peel acquired Stanhope Farm in 1928 and renamed it Stanhope Park Dairy.
The New South Wales Housing Commission compelled Stanhope Park Dairy to reopen in 1973.

These historic properties are reflected in the suburb name. Opening in 1995, Stanhope Gardens Estate received suburban status in 1996.
Stanhope Gardens was formerly known as Irish Town, Kellyville, and Parklea when it was first being developed into what it is today. Most signers of a petition who requested that Stanhope Gardens instead of Stanhope remain in the name did so.
A sizable portion of the Stanhope Gardens district is currently occupied by the master-planned community known as Newbury Estate. The Royal Australian Planning Institute awarded Newbury Estate its 1999 Award for Excellence in Plan Making – Urban Planning. Newbury Estate was designed by Landcom.

Private bus companies Hillsbus and Busways operate public transportation on behalf of Transport for NSW.
Sydney’s central business district, Parramatta, Rouse Hill, Blacktown, Castle Hill, Pennant Hills, and Epping can all access services.
Both Riley Station on the North-West T-Rouse way’s Hill–Parramatta section and Stanhope Station on its Blacktown–Parklea branch serve the area.
The Sydney Metro Northwest offers frequent services to Chatswood, Castle Hill, Macquarie Park, and Norwest Business Park. The station that is nearest to Stanhope Gardens is Kellyville.
