South Western Sydney is a metropolitan area situated in the southwestern part of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the largely working-class Greater Western Sydney region. The region is situated within the Cumberland Plain.
There are a variety of different regional boundaries. Occasionally, it simply comprises the regions surrounding Liverpool, Canterbury-Bankstown, and Campbelltown. It has increasingly included Macarthur region (the local government areas of Camden Council and Wollondilly Shire). It may also cover the entire region between the inner south-west suburbs of Canterbury and Bankstown and the outer south-west suburbs of Campbelltown and Camden.
In this second, broader sense, South-western Sydney comprises the local government areas of the cities of Canterbury-Bankstown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Campbelltown, Camden, and Wollondilly.
