Turrella is a southern Sydney suburb in the Australian state of New South Wales. Turrella is located 10 kilometres south of Sydney’s central business district on the southern bank of Wolli Creek within the Bayside Council local government area.

Turrella is predominantly residential. Several light industrial projects are situated near the Turrella train station and to the north of the railway line. A footbridge from Turrella across Wolli Creek connects Henderson Street to the formerly known as Undercliffe eastern side of Earlwood. The footbridge was closed by Canterbury Council in 2012 because it was deemed structurally unstable, however was reopened in November 2013 after being rebuilt.

In 1842, William Favell and his wife Eleanor farmed the Hillside property on this site.

(Reference needed) Their neighbours were the families of orchardists Thomas Curtis and gardener Henry Blackwell. (Reference needed) When the railway came through, the fields and orchards were subdivided. The railroad station was inaugurated on September 21, 1931. The light industrial buildings were constructed near to the railroad line, and one of the largest factories in the region was the now-defunct Streets Ice Cream plant.

The post office was initially called as West Arncliffe when it opened on April 26, 1933, but changed its name to Arncliffe West in January 1948. In August 1952, it became Turrella, but it closed on December 21, 1970.

Turrella station is located on the Airport & South Line of the Sydney Trains system. The 473 State Transit Authority route serves Turrella, which travels from Rockdale to Bardwell Valley, Arncliffe, Turrella, Bardwell Park station, Earlwood, Clemton Park, and Campsie.

A 4 km tunnel carries the M5 South Western Motorway beneath portions of Turrella. Arncliffe and Bexley North are the closest gates to travel south-west towards Beverly Hills and Liverpool. Arncliffe contains the closest access points to Botany and the city from the north-east.
