In the Australian state of New South Wales, Watsons Bay is a Sydney suburb on the harbor that is located in the east. Watsons Bay is located in the Municipality of Woollahra’s local government area, 11 kilometers to the northeast of Sydney’s CBD.
The protected bay and anchorage on its western side, at Port Jackson, which is where Watsons Bay, at the tip of the South Head peninsula, is located, is where the bay gets its name (Sydney Harbour). It offers views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge across the harbor. The Gap is a seaside cliff on its eastern side with views of the Pacific Ocean and Manly near North Head. Only Vaucluse, to the south, is a neighboring suburb.
