Wattle Grove is located in the metropolitan area of Sydney, in the Australian state of New South Wales. Within the City of Liverpool’s administrative region, the suburb of Wattle Grove can be found thirty kilometres to the south-west of the Sydney central business district.
Wattle Grove is a residential suburb that features a small commercial centre in addition to a number of parks and other recreational spaces, including Wattle Grove Park, Australis Park, Wattle Grove Lake, and Lakeside Park, which is located nearby.

On land that had previously been used by the Australian Defense Force, Wattle Grove was developed. In the 1970s, when Prime Minister Gough Whitlam was in office, the government first conceived of the idea of developing a suburban area. After the infrastructure was constructed, the suburb was left undeveloped for several decades until it was revitalised in the 1990s by Delfin Property Group with the assistance of the Defense Housing Authority. Holsworthy Village became known as Wattle Grove in 1992 after having been renamed from its previous incarnation, Holsworthy Village. Wattle Grove was formally introduced to the public by Prime Minister Bob Hawke on April 12th, 1992.

A remarkable transformation took place in the tree-lined lanes of Wattle Grove in the year 2006. Many of the casuarina trees, also known as Australian Pine, that bordered the main road were cut down and replanted because their roots posed a threat to surrounding homes and they were prone to toppling during storms. Shrubs that are native to the area have been planted in their place.

As a result of its close proximity to both the M5 and the M7 motorways, Wattle Grove has excellent access to all other areas of Sydney. Both the 901 and 902 bus routes are serviced by Veolia Transport and operate within the area. Both the Holsworthy and the Liverpool train stations can be reached by taking Route 901.
